Awkward and Persistent As a Baby Bird

“Awkward in a hundred ways, clumsy in a thousand, still I go on.” – Chinese Zen master Yueh-shan

What a delight to be imperfect! Or more precisely, to smile at our imperfections that are going to always be with us anyway. I’m thinking today of baby birds (spring is in the air after all),  how awkward and clumsy they are. And how they persist. Still, as Yueh-shan says, they go on.

May you and I also go on, persist, today….awkward in a hundred ways, clumsy in a thousand, beautifully imperfect.
